Friday Afternoon workshop
Keep Them Reading
with John Coy

This interactive workshop will address ways to keep kids, particularly boys, reading from the elementary years into the teen years. John has been so engaged in this topic that he has written a new book addressing the issue.

Come prepared to be energized, to learn new approaches to a critical issue, and to share your best practices and programs with other participants. This will be a highly rewarding workshop and an opportunity to network with colleagues about books, readers, kids, and how to Keep Them Reading.

1:30pm - 4:00pm

A Minnesota Readers' Theater Presentation
Four of Minnesota's finest children's authors will engage us in an outstanding Readers' Theater based on their work. Join our featured authors -- John Coy, Lynne Jonell, Marsha Chall, and David LaRochelle -- for an evening of fun, exploration, drama, and recreation as they reveal another side of their talents.

Handouts for developing Readers' Theater in your classroom, readers group, library, or just for fun will be provided for attendees. Don't miss this celebration of reading and authors!
7:00pm - 8:30pm
followed by dessert in front of the fireplace
